2015: My Resolutions.

2015-01-01 08.07.25

2014.  What a year!  It flew bye.  Well, a little admission here, at the mid-way point I didn’t think 2015 would ever arrive!  It really dragged at a certain point.  Let me put this way, at the end of September the year took off in a sprint for year end finish line.

Woohoo!  2015 is finally here and I am ready to ROCK this year.  I will rock it!  I’m really excited about this year.  I feel it is truly going to be an amazing year, and absolutely wonderful on several levels.

As I reflect upon last year I’ve come up with Resolutions for the new year upon us:

  1. Lose weight.  10 to 15 pounds to be exact.  Let me be candid and state that all of my reasons, a-hem excuses, was not a good idea.  Consistency, commitment, motivation, and regime will be a huge key to my success here.  Stay tuned for my workout routine(s).
  2. Lose weight, 10-15 pounds to be exact.  My goal is the weight and change my curves as well.  Eat clean(er).  Smaller portions.  Consume less sugar.  Cut-out soda, period.  Increase water intake.  Keep, cheat days though – these are important.  Stay tunes for what I’ll be eating, how I made the adjustments and yep, I’ll share the recipes.
  3. Have more fun!  RELAX and enjoy life more.  Smell the roses.  Take (more) deep breaths.  Less sighs and eye rolls.  Less stress altogether, life’s too short.
  4. Do more actives for me.  A few that I will devote more time to:  blogging, crafts/DIY and sending out snail mail.  Be on the lookout … you might receive some!
  5. Get Number Nerd Bookkeeping Solutions off the ground!  Shhh… my goal is January 31st.
  6. Be more realistic with my to-do list(s), expectations and goals.  Admission: I have a serious problem with this area of my life and I’m very hard on myself when I don’t make my deadlines.  Eeek!  Work-in-progress.
  7. Last but, not least blog consistency.  Stay tuned for updates on what is to come on the blog this 2015, post(s) in the works!
  8. Travel more!

Did you make any resolutions for 2015?  Any exciting plans, goals or trips?

Make it a great start to the week!

…what are we busy about?

busy_henrydavidthoreau

Words to ponder on Hump Day.  What are we busy about?

In my field, I’m always busy this time of year.  Always.  I’m in accounting.

But, seriously, what are we really “busy” about?

Cookie making was a success!  Cookies made.  Dough eaten.  Quality mother/daughter/sister time.  And let’s not forget a bit of fun with my niece and nephew, Bisbee and Dakota.  Did you follow along on Instragram?  It was fun and full of shenanigans.  And of course, I ate the dough.  It was delicious!  I will say though,  it’s important to read the directions first on the icing…  Just sayin’!

Making cookies always reminds me of the holidays, especially when sprinkles are involved.  The only thing missing is snow…snow angels and snowball fights.  Ha!  Not in the Valley of the Sun I won’t see snow – I’ll have to head up north for that.  Hmmm, maybe…?!

What reminds you of the holidays?

Later today I’ll be baking cookies with Mel and mom.  I highly recommend you follow along to the cookie making shenanigans!  I’ve missed the last few years due to work and my year-end schedule but, took the time to participate this year.  Luckily enough I’m able to do so as well!

I’m looking forward to making the cookie cutouts (new recipe), crescent moons and chocolate chip oatmeal.  Yummy!  And yes, I’ll be eating some dough too!  Check back later this week for cutout recipe and decorating process.

It’s Monday and let’s get motivated for a great week!  Before you start your morning with that cup of joe, hop up and out of bed for a smidge of exercise.  Come on, trust me, it’ll be worth it!  By the time you read this post I’ll be on my elliptical giving it a go with 20-minutes.  Then, I’ll grab my 8 or 10 pound dumbbells for (3) sets of lunges and squats.  And let’s not forgot those abs!  Oh yeah.  Monday mornings are lower body.  More to come on my workout regime, so stay tuned…for the new workout series.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to send someone special some snail mail tomorrow morning.

Don’t forget to send that short and sweet note out to someone special today!  Write a 1-line message, sign it, seal it, and stamp it.  Done!!

The sixth day of Christmas…

6th

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me… six little {hello}’s, five golden trees, four french monograms, three winter wonderlands, two you’re invited, and one i hope you know how much i care.

This weekend was pretty productive, I got a lot accomplished!  Woohoo!  Double fist pumps for me.  That’s a good thing since the holidays are fast approaching!  I’m relieved to have several things checked off of my growing to-do list.  But, I still have plenty left to accomplish.  I hope to get a bunch done this week before and after work and thus leave the weekend somewhat free.  Somewhat.  I have one present that still needs to be completed! And I’ll admit I have a few more presents to pick up, but they are easy…gift cards.

Going Christmas light this year, I’m not going overboard and sticking with my budget.  It’s a must do, when trying to payoff credit cards and pay cash for everything.  I am a Number Nerd!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to send someone special some snail mail tomorrow morning.  Catch up on the first 5 days of Christmas here: first,  secondthirdfourth, and fifth.

On the fifth day, my true love said to me…

5th

On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me… five golden trees, four monograms, three winter wonderlands, two you’re invited, and one i hope you know how much i care.

This past week has been busy for me getting ready for year-end and everything else in-between!  Ha!  Who am I kidding, we are all busy right now.  Right…?  Right.

My full-time job is in the accounting field so, that in itself makes me busy this time of year.  But, in my limited free time I’ve been working on consistency with the blog, working out (again) and knitting again (stress relief at its finest)!  Let’s just say things are a work-in-progress right now.  It does take 21-days to make a new habit.  Attempting to get on a workout schedule, and it is working.  I need to be more consistent though.  Eating healthier and watching portion size too.  Double fist pumps for me!

Oh, I do make time for me though: daily stop at Starbucks (today I’ll get 4 stars after 2pm), workouts, and reading.  Most importantly though, I’ve been working on Christmas gifts and Blondie’s Shop orders when I get home.  So, needless my days and nights are filled to the brim.  Fun time for sure!  I caught part of White Christmas last night and DVR’d Scrooged.  Fist pump again!  I was unable to watch it last year, this year I’ll be watching it!

Make it a super great day and send some snail mail to someone special.  Catch up on the first 4 days here: first,  secondthird, and fourth.

Holiday Spirit on the fourth day of Christmas…

4th

Hey, it’s TGIF!  Happy Friday.  Holiday spirit is in the air.  Can you feel it?  I can, woohoo!  This time of year is my absolute favorite and then some.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me… four monograms, three winter wonderlands, two you’re invited, and one i hope you know how much i care.

Monogram notecards are making a comeback!  Part of the reason I designed the line.  And let’s take note that it is a classic way to send a “hello”.  It’s a unisex, multi-color line, something that anyone could use.  The inspiration behind the design came from Cassie’s blog, Hi Sugarplum.

Remember, it’s the thought that counts.  Head on over to BlondiesShop.com and pick out the color scheme that fits you best!  And it only takes a few minutes to do it!  The monogram line is made to order.

Make it a super great day and send some snail mail to brighten someone’s day! And if you missed them click here for the first,  second, and third day of Christmas.

On the third day of Christmas…

3rd

On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me… three winter wonderlands, two you’re invited, and one i hope you know how much i care.

I can’t describe what it’s like to receive a handwritten note card in the mail, it is pure joy.  Well, actually I can, I received a Christmas card and note from my Grammy today.  She wrote a few quick lines and it definitely made me smile.

You see opening mail to me is like Christmas every day!  And I’m not just saying that because it’s that time of year.  It’s really fun to receive a card from someone, don’t you agree?  Oh, and let’s not leave out that I absolutely love sending handwritten notes to friends and family.   It’s fun to send a short and sweet note to brighten someone’s day!  Plus, it’s nice to share words of encouragement, your favorite quote or a “just because” hello!

It’s the thought that counts and you can make it extra special with a sassy note card!  Head on over to BlondiesShop.com and pick out that sassy card now!  And it only takes a few minutes to do it!

Make it a super great day and don’t forget to send that handwritten note.  And if you missed them click here for the first and second day of Christmas.

On the second day of Christmas…

2nd

On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me… two you’re invited invitations and i hope you know how much i care.

Invite the ones you love with a sassy invite from the selection of invitations over at BlondiesShop.com!  Are you ready to have that fabulous mustache party? All you need is a party, a date, the details and a great invitation.  Inside you want creative party details, and include the mustache!  It’s ok, go ahead, make an invitation statement!  Trust me, your guests will love it.  It’s a fun twist to an invite.

And don’t forget, receiving a handwritten note has a special sentiment to it.  Simple put, it’s a nice surprise.  One, that we don’t make time for in today’s busy world.  Take the time to write a line or two, add a stamp, and send the card on its merry little way!  Short and sweet is the way to go, remember, it’s the thought that counts.

On the first day of Christmas…

1st day of christmas

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me…a card saying I hope you know how much I care.

Say you care to the ones you love with a card from the Buzzin’ Bumble Bee line over at BlondiesShop.com!

An idea… send your favorite quote to someone special!  Write it out in the card and sign it.  Easy peasy.

You’ll definitely brighten their day.

What am I thankful for?

thanksgiving_thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope each and every one of you (my readers) have an absolutely wonderful day stuffing your face, drinking wine, eating too much dessert and spending it with the ones you love.

I’ll be spending mine with family, watching football, playing games and of course eating way too much food!  I must say that mashed potatoes, stuffing and dessert is already calling my name.  I’m not a huge fan of turkey but, will indulge today.  I must say it’ll be a merry way to  spend the afternoon.  And of course, the food coma will ensue on my way home…

I’d like to pause and reflect on what I am thankful for.  Sometimes, we forget and a holiday like today reminds us to take step back and acknowledge what we are thankful for and why.  It also gives us a chance to gives a special shout out here and there, to those that matter most and those few that have made a difference in our lives this past year.

I’m incredibly thankful for having Scott and Smokey in my life.  Life is pretty amazing with them  and I can’t imagine a day without either one of them!  I have some pretty special friends too.  I am thankful for each and every single one of you.  Each of you are amazing in your own special way.  You know who you are, you don’t need a special announcement of your name in this post.  Ha!  And last but not least, let’s not forget the fam, woohoo!  All of you get a super special shout out because you have put up with me for all of these years, ha!  I love each and every one of you.

Today I want to acknowledge an amazing friend.  We actually became friends roughly a year ago.  She’s currently facing a huge hurdle in her life.  She’s being challenged in ways one couldn’t imagine.  But, she is an amazing woman and she will persevere.  And of course, I’ll be there anytime she needs it! Love you my dear.  You are rockstar fabulous and don’t you forget it!

Last but, not least I’d like to thank my boss and co-workers!  They make every day fun.  It’s tough work but, well worth it for the end result.  Thank you for making me a part of your team.

Have a wonderful day with all the ones you love, eating what you love and watching the things you love!  And please do share what you are thankful for.

The Key: let’s get motivated!

lets get motivated_11

At times, we all need to step away, step back, breathe.  No rush to judgment.  Pause, then ponder.   Time to re-evaluate.  Use paper and pen – write it out.  De-code the pro’s and con’s.  Sometimes, this process takes a bit of time…  And more deep breaths too.  And at times, talk it out.

When doubt or uncertainty lingers, do nothing.  Wait.  Continue to ponder.

After the deep breathes, the pondering, the evaluation – a decision has been reached.  Yay or nay…

You navigate the steps.  Outline it.  A plan formulates.  It all comes together.  Action “is” next and most importantly, you get MOTIVATED!!!

Has this happened to you?  What did you do?  How did you navigate through it?
